mateo turned three this past week. we marked the birthday with a Big Boy Bed, cupcakes for breakfast, dinner at (our) princess cafe, and a (trilingual) birthday party with his friends on saturday morning.

robert munsch's "the dark" is a current favourite at our house. it must be read a minimum of 3 times per day.

building the "geburtstagsfeuer" with papa. this is a magical word that he has been using a lot lately. sometimes it means geburtstagsfeier (birthday party), but it also (hilariously) refers to his fire station duplo set. i couldn't stop laughing. :)
