every year, the house of friendship in kitchener does a potato blitz in preparation for the distribution of christmas hampers. last year, our 25+ group started a gardening project by planting/weeding/taking care of/harvesting a plot of potatoes and onions at the goods' farm close to breslau. this year, we harvested around 850 lbs of potatoes and about 55 lbs of onions. it was cold, but the fresh cut french fries were unbelievable.
